Massage Therapy
Hi, my name is John Hauser, I am a new Registered Massage Therapist, and I am very excited to join the team at Optimal Health Physiotherapy. I completed my Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Guelph in 2008. In 2022, I returned to studies at Fleming College to pursue certification as a Registered Massage Therapist, which I completed in 2024.
My approach to therapy is rooted in utilizing traditional massage techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue and trigger point therapy; with joint mobilization and massage with movement to help you achieve and go beyond your desired health outcomes. I am deeply committed to staying informed of the latest techniques and research to provide the exceptional evidence-based treatment. I’m a stalwart believer that therapeutic effects cannot be maintained without putting the personal work in. Working with the multidisciplinary team at Optimal Health, I will assist in creating achievable homecare exercise programs for long lasting outcomes.
When I am not working as a Registered Massage Therapist I volunteer as a board member with the Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre (KSAC) to stay connected with and informed on social issues that affect our community. I am also a board member with Kawartha Nordic Ski Club (KNSC) which feeds my desire to keep the active outdoor community in the Kawarthas vibrant.
I have competed and remain active in numerous sports including rowing, cycling, cross country skiing, alpine skiing, and running. I have coached youth in sport, and organized various cycling competitions ranging from the grass roots community level to globally sanctioned Pan American Championships.
