What is Osteopathy?

Osteopaths look at the body as a whole and understand that all systems are interconnected and should be addressed together to make the strongest impact on the client’s health.  Osteopaths rely on skilled manual therapeutic techniques to assess and treat the client, guiding the natural self-healing properties of the human body.  Osteopathic manipulation tries to identify primary strain patterns to reduce systematic dysfunction.  Primary strains are considered as the functional-adaptive mechanisms that determine the body’s ability and or inability to restore function.  Osteopathic treatment may be directed at the musculoskeletal, neurological and visceral systems.
